DreamHack

DreamHack has announced Counter-Strike: Global Offensive as one of their tournament games with a whopping prize purse of 300,000 SEK (~$45,000 USD) and sixteen teams.
Traditionally held at Elmia in Jönköping, DreamHack Winter will take place on November 22-25th in Sweden and will once again feature a massive Counter-Strike tournament, although for Global Offensive instead of 1.6 this time. Whether a CS 1.6 tournament is also planned is still unknown.
Twelve teams will receive a direct invitation to the main tournament, while lesser known squads also have hope of participation via the on-site BYOC qualifier taking place the day before.
As usual, the tournament will kick off with a group stage that will feature four groups of four teams each and see the amount of teams split in half as only eight will progress to the playoffs.
From there on out it will be a single elimination best-of-three bracket with the following prize distribution, suggesting that no third place decider will once again be played.
DreamHack Winter 2012 prize distribution:
1. 150,000 SEK (~$22,500)
2. 75,000 SEK (~11,250)
3. 25,000 SEK (~$3,750)
4. 25,000 SEK (~$3,750)
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will come out next week and with teams such as Ninjas in Pyjamas already preparing for the events to come, you can expect HLTV.org to be on-site in Jönköping to provide you with full coverage of the event.
